• La Perla is laying off 365 people at its Bologna headquarters. It's "part of a 'reorganization and re-launch plan' to help the company compete successfully in the market." [WWD]
• Elie Tahari is laying off 35 people. Tahari says, "Although current sales remain within projections, it would be irresponsible of us not to prepare for an uncertain future." [WWD]
• Steven Alan is designing the staff attire at the just-opened Gild Hotel near Wall Street. Both the men's and women's designs include a silk skinny tie. [WWD]
