It's another courtroom win for Louis Vuitton! A judge awarded the house $3.5 million in a copyright-infringement case this month. Louis filed the suit against interrelated companies LY USA, Inc., Coco USA, Inc., and Marco Leather Goods, Ltd., in November 2006. Calling the businesses "notorious counterfeiters," Louis took issue with the defendants' registration of an "LY" logo that looked like its own "LV" logo. Their handbags were also blatant knockoffs. The defendants plan to appeal. [WWD]
