Sarah Palin tried to dig herself out of the $150K-wardrobe mess this weekend by boasting at a rally in Florida she was back in her old clothes. She even name-dropped her favorite consignment shop in Anchorage, Out of the Closet. You might think this kind of publicity would be great for Out of the Closet, but it's not! AIDS Heathcare Foundation has operated a charity resale stores in California and Florida since 1990 also called Out of the Closet, a name the foundation trademarked in 1997. Now aware of the Anchorage establishment, the foundation sent a cease-and-desist letter to the Alaskan store with threats of a lawsuit if demands aren't met. Meanwhile, the California-based foundation asked Palin to donate her $150K wardrobe to them. [WWD]
