Ann Taylor Slashes Staff; Marion Cotillard’s Dior Ads Debut

• Ann Taylor cut 19 percent of its staff at the company’s Times Square headquarters on Wednesday for “restructuring.” Following job cuts in January, Ann Taylor has lost about a third of the staff in its New York office this year. [WWD]

• As the new face of the Lady Dior handbag, Marion Cotillard appears in the first of a four-part series of ads, perched atop the Eiffel Tower, as you see above. Her next installment will come out this month on the upcoming LadyDior.com Website. [WWD]

• Takashi Murakami is covering the Fifth Avenue Louis Vuitton store in Monogram Multicore vinyl for the holidays. His art will literally wrap the building, kind of like the ultimate present. [WWD]

• On this week’s episode of Stylista, Anne Slowey pans a team of contestants for touting “spring’s new metallics,” calling it an “old trend.” She says this while wearing a prominent, metallic brass necklace. Later in the show she models a chunky (dare we say, metallic?) gold cuff. [NYT]

Role Models star Seann William Scott says if he could have a dish named after him it would be the “Seann William Scott Veal Scallopini With the Stifler Porcini Mushroom Risotto…. And it would be served at Da Silvano, where all the models go. I’d like models to eat my dish to fatten them up a bit.” [NYP]
