Alfred Shaheen, whose Hawaiian shirt earned a spot on the fashion map when Elvis Presley wore one on the cover of his 1961 Blue Hawaii album, died late last month at the age of 86. He said he strove to create a "certain look that was different from everyone else's." His original designs fetch around $1,100 at auction. [British Vogue]
