Miles Aldridge’s Exhibition Shows a Darker, Sexier Side of Fashion

Sex and fashion are inseparable, thanks in part to suggestive magazine spreads and risqué ads. Miles Aldridge is one of the photographers responsible for those sizzling shots (he's featured in ICP's "Weird Beauty" exhibit), and today, his own show is opening at the Steven Kasher Gallery. On display will be over 25 of Aldridge's images, from Vogue, Vogue Italia, the New York Times, and Numero. The provocative shots are oversaturated and make you a touch uneasy. But in the end, that’s what makes them so memorable. The exhibition coincides with the launch of Pictures for Photographs, a book of his sketches and pictures. Click ahead for the preview.
May 28June 20. Steven Kasher Gallery, 521 W. 23rd St., nr. Tenth Ave., second fl. (212-966-3978); TS (116), Su, M (closed).
