While Mary-Kate Olsen revisits her acting career, Ashley Olsen is focusing on their clothing line, the Row. Men shall be deprived of the label's $1,700 lambskin bottoms no longer when the line launches its first-ever menswear collection this fall. In an interview with VMan about the new venture, Ashley says she is passionate about brand-building but notes the important distinction (taste level aside) between labels like hers and those like Kimora Lee Simmons and Jessica Simpson's: Hers is not a celebrity brand. Even though she is, in fact, a celebrity. Don't get confused! If she'd wanted a celebrity brand, she would have named it after herself. That same mystery appeals to Ashley in menswear — "When it’s not about fashion. When you have no idea what brand it is. When it’s worn and feels good. To touch a man who has a soft sweater on, a soft pant, a great jacket, or something that, as a woman, I want to take off him and put on and feel sexy in." Perhaps that's why Ashley posed with brown hair for the accompanying editorial — just like her clothes, it's like she, the celebrity, disappears. See VMan's shots in the slideshow.
