Best Bets: Off the Wall

Graphic designer and New York native Aimée Wilder is known for her nontraditional wallpaper adorned with mesmerizing patterns of pigeons, snowy slopes, robots, or squatting sumo wrestlers. But for admirers not yet ready to devote a full eight-foot wall to her quirky prints, you can now buy a plush sixteen-inch swath: Wilder turned Analog Nights, one of her most popular designs, into a pillow. The limited-edition cotton cases are hand-screened in images of retro record players, speakers, cassettes, and tape decks, resulting in a decidedly cooler look than the embroidered throw pillows of your youth. The cushions are available in subdued shades of gray, chocolate brown, or turquoise, for an interesting accent that doesn't dominate the room.

$50 each at AimeeWilder.com.
