Lara Stone Is Couture Fashion Week’s Top Model
New models ruled the runways at couture. Givenchy, Christian Dior, and Valentino all chose fresh faces to open their collections: Thana Kuhnen, Antonella Graef, and Frida Gustavsson, respectively. Newbie Maria Kashleva closed out Jean Paul Gaultier — a spot typically reserved for the designer's favorite girls from seasons past. Meanwhile, Hanne Gaby Odiele opened what might be Christian Lacroix's last couture collection, and Vlada Roslyakova closed for the fourth season in a row. But only one girl could reign triumphant: Lara Stone. The model had the final look at Chanel, where she walked arm-in-arm with Lagerfeld's muse Baptiste Giabiconi. And a day later, she was first out of the gate at Gaultier. But what cements her win is her upcoming cover for the August issue of W magazine.
