ALERT: Anna Wintour to Sign T-Shirts in Queens for Fashion’s Night Out

Condé Nast’s resistance to that newfangled thing all the kids are using these days called the Internet hasn’t gotten in the way of Vogue’s marketing efforts for Fashion’s Night out, a multi-platform media marvel of organization and user-friendliness that includes Facebook, Twitter, and a fancy new Website. The pretty black and hot-pink Website with a complete list of Fashion’s Night Out events hits the Internet today and has a neat little function that lets you add events to your personal Fashion’s Night Out itinerary. More than 700 designers, retailers, and brands are doing events on September 10. Anna is thrilled. “There is so much planned that we could shop till dawn and still not see and do everything,” she says in a press release. Ciara, Sean “Diddy” Combs, Cindy Crawford, Taylor Momsen, and Pharrell are among the celebrities making appearances. The press release reports designers making appearances include Thom Browne, Roberto Cavalli, Georgina Chapman, Patricia Field, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, Maria Sharapova, and Christian Siriano, among others. Michael Kors will also appear alongside Anna Wintour. They’ll sign Fashion’s Night Out T-shirts together at the Queens Center Macy’s in Elmhurst for the first 50 customers. So Anna’s going to Queens! It’s probably on her way back to the city from the U.S. Open in Flushing Meadows. Convenient for her, but not for Anna fans, who will have to camp overnight there to ensure they get a T-shirt. And maybe even take the 7 train, because it doesn’t sound like the free double-decker Fashion’s Night Out buses are going to go there.
