Best Bet: Sweet Scentsation

The scent for fall isn't a warm heavy musk, but instead comes in a light, feminine fragrance in the form of Creed's new Acqua Fiorentina. Handmade from fruits and flowers near Florence, the top note is a delicious Greengage plum (we never heard of it either, but it smells heavenly), followed by roses, carnations, bergamot, and lemon. It's rounded out with a base of cedar and sandalwood to give it a nice amount of weight and to balance out the sweet factor. Plus it lasts all day, isn't too overpowering, and is ideal for day or night.

$130 to $230 at Bergdorf Goodman (754 Fifth Ave., at 58th St.; 212-753-7300).
