How Madonna and Gaga Wound Up at Marc’s Show; Narciso Rodriguez to Design Lower-Priced Clothes

Marc Jacobs didn’t invite Madonna and Lada Gaga to his spring show yesterday; they called and asked to attend. Of Madonna, says Jacobs, “I couldn’t say no.” [WWD]

• Anna Wintour arrived half an hour early for the Marc Jacobs show, and Madonna showed up at a little after 8. “Spread the word: Marc Jacobs is as punctual as German trains these days.” [WSJ]

• Responding to retailers’ requests, Narciso Rodriguez is creating dresses that sell for less than $1,000; his designs typically cost $1,800 and up. He is also creating a line of pieces to be sold exclusively through eBay, which will cost less than $350 each. [WSJ]

• Kimora Lee Simmons will live-stream her Baby Phat show at Radio City on a Jumbotron in Times Square tonight. [NYDN]

• A YouTube video promoting Dsquared’s new online shop shows designers Dean and Dan Caten dressing (and undressing) Brazilian male model Jean Carlos, leaving him naked in one scene for a second. YouTube edited out the frame,but the movie was viewed more than 20,000 times before it was censored. [WWD]
