Sona Matufkova Is Thursday’s Top Model
On the last day of Fashion Week, four of new York's biggest labels — Ralph Lauren, Isaac Mizrahi, Tommy Hilfiger, and Calvin Klein — walked. At Ralph Lauren, the designer selected classic beauty Christina Carey to open, while Russian model Yana Karpova closed. Curiously absent were two of the label's faces: Tao Okamoto and Ubah Hassan. Meanwhile, Isaac Mizrahi booked two of fashion's hottest faces of the moment: Karlie
Kloss and Iris Strubegger, to open and close, respectively. Once again, Natasha Poly picked up another opening slot, this time for Tommy Hilfiger. And after a two-year hiatus, the Norwegian Iselin Steiro got back into her runway groove closing the show. Lastly, Calvin Klein designer Francisco Costa chose Jac to open the show (she also opened last season). But it was the surprise casting of Sona Matufkova to close the show that takes the win. The Slovak model has been in the business since 2006, so a fresh face she is not, but this is her major breakthrough. Click ahead to see all the openers and closers from Thursday.
