First Look: Dolce Vita’s New Men’s Collection, J.D. Fisk

Though downtown shoe brand Dolce Vita is best known for its spiked and studded heels, this fall it’s launching a spinoff men’s line called J.D. Fisk. The new collection will be housed in a 300-square-foot space on Ludlow (formerly the DV store), outfitted with distressed wood and iron detailing. J.D. Fisk is designed by Joel Rich, a footwear designer who has been working on the Dolce Vita women’s line for more than four years. “I pretty much pestered them about adding a men’s collection until they let me do it,” he admits. “I wanted to do traditional styles with a slight edge.” The inaugural collection is composed of seven styles, each available in two or three shades. Look for wear-anywhere fall classics, including a burnished wingtip oxford, chukka boot, penny loafer, and combat boot — all done in leather or suede. The space won’t open until October 1, but click ahead for a preview of what’s in store.
