Isaac Mizrahi on his spring 2011 collection, which he showed yesterday in Lincoln Center: "This idea of trompe l’oeil Xerox so it’s not exactly as trompe l’oeil as you can be, but it’s a Xerox of something. And I think that it makes all the other beautiful, delicate floraly things I’ve been inspired by look even more beautiful and delicate. This idea of a beautiful smocked ballgown skirt with not an actual shirt but a Xerox of a shirt. It’s funny for one thing, and I just think it makes the woman look more beautiful for some reason.
