Tavi Is Styling Part of a Fashion Week Presentation

Why hire someone over the age of 20 when you can hire a 14-year-old? It works well in the modeling world, doesn’t it? Alice + Olivia designer Stacy Bendet is holding a presentation for her spring 2011 collection, and though young Tavi has styled a BlackBook shoot, she won’t style the models wearing Bendet’s new line — that will be done by Isabel Dupré. Tavi will get to style the people involved in the party portion of the presentation, which includes performances by Amanda Blank and the Pierces, who are known for one of the most overplayed runway songs of all time. Bendet called Tavi “one of the most original people in fashion right now.” She’s also one of the luckiest students in high school right now, because she’s taking a couple of weeks off from learning to visit Antwerp, where she was invited to check out the new Stephen Jones exhibit, and will then head to New York Fashion Week, where lots of front-row seats will probably have her name on them.
