Kelly Osbourne Is Reportedly Starting Her Own Clothing Line; Elle’s Whitney Vargas Joins WSJ. Magazine

WSJ. magazine editor Deborah Needleman has hired former Elle senior fashion news editor Whitney Vargas as the publication’s fashion news director. [WWD]

• Deckers Outdoor Corp., the owner of Ugg Australia, filed a lawsuit against Emu Australia, Inc. for referring to its shearling boots as “ugg boots” on its website. It’s unclear if Deckers has much of a case, since ugg is a pretty common word in Australia, and over 70 registered trademarks in the country use the term. [WWD]

• Lululemon nearly doubled its profits this quarter, thanks in part to strong e-commerce sales. [WSJ]

• Cathy Horyn on Giambattista Valli opened his first-ever boutique in Paris. [WWD]

Mulberry’s profits more than tripled in the past six months, and the Alexa bag continues to be the brand’s best seller. [Guardian UK]

• Bulgari is hosting a retrospective at the Grand Palais in Paris in honor of its 125th anniversary. [Independent UK]
