In 2008, after sending out invites to his holiday party, Marc Jacobs and his business partner Robert Duffy decided to cancel the annual costume fete in light of the recession. Though they said they hoped to bring it back the following year, it remained off for 2009 and is off again this year. We asked Jacobs last night at the premiere of Somewhere if he would bring it back. “Oh, I hope so,” he said. “Not this year, but I hope soon.” So maybe next year? “Yeah.”
