Phoebe Philo, the creative director of Céline, has been named Designer of the Year at the British Fashion Awards. She beat out fellow Brits Christopher Kane and Erdem Moralioglu, who were also nominated for the prize by the British Fashion Council.
In the other categories, Mulberry beat out Victoria Beckham, among others, for the Best Designer Brand award, and Alexander McQueen was posthumously honored with an award for Outstanding Achievement in Fashion Design. The list of winners:
