A Look Inside the New Nars Boutique

Give your pallid winter skin a boost at the new 525-square-foot Nars boutique, opening in the West Village today at 11 a.m. Designed by Fabien Baron, the brand’s first-ever freestanding store looks both very French and very West Village, with crown moldings, dark hardwood floors, and a marble mantel over the fireplace. The store-spanning counter of shadow palettes, polishes, and lipsticks pops against the largely black and white backdrop, save the back checkout counter, which matches the brand’s Jungle Red lipstick. Testing is encouraged, and stylists are on hand for tips and demos. New shades for spring include Desperado nail polish (a warm, brassy gold) and Madére Pure Matte Lipstick (a rosy nude seen on the spring runway at Phillip Lim) that won’t overwhelm your smoky eye. Two new products were introduced exclusively for the launch, a rosy shade of 413 Bleecker Pure Matte lipstick, and the black lacquered Bento Box for stowing cosmetics. Click ahead for a look inside.

Nars, 413 Bleecker St., nr. 11th St.
