Having conquered Wal-Mart, JCPenney, and both the luxury and contemporary womenswear markets, the Olsen twins are breaching a new frontier: the Internet! And who better to help them than one of the original pioneers of the World Wide Web, Josh Berman, who helped co-found Myspace back when people still ordered clothes by phone from catalogues and the Olsens were starring on Fox Family’s So Little Time. Their combined efforts will produce StyleMint.com, a personalized shopping website that will provide monthly recommendations for different merchandise designed by the Olsens based on members’ individual style. Women’s Wear Daily describes the site as being “similar to book-, music- and wine-of-the-month clubs,” but it basically seems like a regular e-commerce website where customers get steered toward things they’re more likely to buy.
