The designers behind the clothing line Feral Childe, Moriah Carlson and Alice Wu, have filed a copyright-infringement lawsuit against Forever 21 for allegedly copying one of their textile designs, according to a press release sent by the label’s lawyers yesterday. Both Carlson and Wu have MFA degrees (from the New York Studio School and Yale respectively) and specialize in hand-painted prints. While counterfeits are obviously always bad, it somehow seems much worse when it’s a little indie label that gets the knock.
