Joe Zee Is Apparently a Highly Accomplished Musician

The Elle editor and All on the Line host says he was “a classic, textbook overachieving Asian kid” while growing up in Toronto. In junior high school, he taught himself to play the violin. "I would sneak off at lunch and go into the music room," he told the Times. Soon he had taught himself to play the cello, the viola, and the bass. “It was fascinating to be able to do every part of a quartet,” he says. Later, he decided to arrange a symphony for an entire orchestra. “So I did,” he said, “and it was performed by a neighboring school.” And you thought he just had great taste in fabrics! [NYT]
