Kate Moss Tells Vogue She Got Married Because of That Show My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding

Kate Moss.

It’s been more than a month since Kate Moss got married, but don’t forget it happened you short-attention-spanned, Internet-reading public, you! Vogue, print edition, is here to remind everyone about Moss’s nuptials in its September issue, from which the model stares back at you with that retouched look in her eye, wearing a lovely fall Alexander McQueen runway dress. Hamish Bowles got the story about what happened inside the wedding. According to him, it was a great PG affair, full of love, veal, fashion people, and vodka-champagne cocktails (the “Kate 76”) that caused him to eventually see the floor slanted. Bowles found out why, at the age of 37, having eschewed marriage almost skillfully for so long, Kate finally decided to wed Jamie Hince:

[I]t was curling up together in front of the compelling British television documentary series Big Fat Gypsy Weddings that appears to have sealed the deal. “I am so romantic about Gypsies,” Kate explains. “They’re not allowed to do anything until they get married. So they all get married really young, at sixteen. You can’t believe the dresses. They’re like blinging butterflies times ten; they can’t move down the aisle! It’s so genius. I was just watching Jamie, so cute, and I was like, these girls, they just spend their whole life waiting for that day—let’s do it!”

For those of you unfamiliar with the series, you can watch some of the inspiring footage here.
