Natali Germanotta, 19-year-old Parsons fashion student and younger sister of Lady Gaga, sounds pretty cool and, well, quite normal in an interview with Teen Vogue:
When the topic of her sister is brought up, she fields questions in such a matter-of-fact tone that you almost feel silly for asking. (On her sister's clothes: "Some of the stuff she wears I'd be like, 'No, never.' " On what she calls Gaga: "Stefi." On if they talk often: "I mean, not when she's in Japan and doesn't have service.")
Well, almost normal.
Still, Natali also has a freak flag she isn't afraid to fly, which becomes apparent days later, when she brings her pet lizard to the shoot and kisses it on the lips while the crew cringes.
But smooching one's pet lizard is peanuts, obviously, compared to a single day in the life of Lady Gaga, which Natali says actually works in her favor:
Whenever I wear something crazy and my dad gives me a hard time, I say, 'Well, at least I'm not walking out on the street with red pasties,' and he'll be like, 'Good point.'
It also works in her favor, of course, that she hopes to work in a fashion industry where her older sister has been deemed an icon. Natali readily admits that Gaga has called in favors and helped her out by wearing her designs, but says she plans to finish school and has no immediate plans to work with her sister on any major projects. She's particularly disinterested in acting as her sister's stylist, apparently, since Gaga "changes 50 times a day." Fair enough.
