Gwen Stefani on Performing With Terry Richardson: ‘It Was Pretty Freaky’

While Gwen Stefani had never been photographed by Terry Richardson before her September Harper’s Bazaar cover, it’s not her first time working with him. She tells Laura Brown in this week’s installation of “The Look”:

No Doubt used to play with [Terry Richardson’s] band, Double Freak. It was pretty freaky. It was the L.A. scene, back in the day. I didn’t even realize it until I walked in and he was like, “Double Freak!” And I was like, “Oh my god, really?”

Brown doesn’t press her for details, which might be a good thing, given how genuinely freaky those stories might be. Instead, she changes the topic and shifts back to clothes, which Stefani obviously has lots of — so many that she doesn’t even know where some of them are kept:

I have a lot of clothes in storage. I’ve never actually been there, but I know that I have this place where the clothes go, and I hope that someday if I want to see the clothes they’ll still be there.

Like a clothes heaven, where beautiful McQueen dresses wait for you to join them in the afterlife. A future worth praying for, indeed.
