Paris Fashion Week Ends: Lanvin's Dresses Hit; Vuitton's Pants Miss
• The Lanvin show celebrated the little black dress with lots of lovely details. [Telegraph] • Marc Jacobs started the Louis Vuitton show on time, leaving attendees racing to their seats. The collection was a commercialized version of the better, more artistic collection he showed in New York — and the pants were awful. [WSJ]

What the Critics Said About Paris Fashion Week, and What They Really Meant

Here's what you probably understand about the Milan collections so far: Prada's black lace was fabulous, Jil Sander showed some really fierce coats, and the Gucci collection was "bohemian." Now, we'd say the Gucci line was more caveman chic than anything else, but we suppose that's why we don't write fashion reviews for the big papers. But sometimes isn't "caveman chic" just the simple, fun way to sum up some high-minded reviewer's purple prose?

What the Critics Said About New York Fashion Week, and What They Really Meant
You know what it's like when you're at dinner with a bunch of people who work together and they start talking about that "report" or that "weird new girl" and you have no idea what they're talking about? In fact, they may as well be speaking another language? Well, fashion critics are the same way. Their reviews come out in a special breed of flowery, pretentious prose that — though fun to read because only they could come up with it — makes very little sense to fashion outsiders. So we've selected some of our favorite New York Fashion Week excerpts from our favorite critics and translated them into language we hope you understand.

Thom Browne's Got a Cute New Friend
• Thom Browne's maybe-twink is cuter than all of our boyfriends put together. [Daily Intel] • The early word from Baby Phat: shitshow. Stay tuned for Fuggish impressions. [Jezebel] • Candace Bushnell's Fashion Week has been rough. Maybe that's why she looks so wounded. [Fashion Dish/NYDN] • To celebrate the end of the taxi strike, Robin Givhan hits Saks' Shoe Megaloporium for some proper heels. Alas, if only Chloé boots were made for women with regular calves. [Off the Runway/WP] • We're just going to throw some phrases around out there: Pete Wentz. Clothing line. Macy's. God is dead. [StyleHive] • Memo to YSL: What the hell are you guys doing with your new marketing campaign? It's a really busy week; we don't have time to wrap our heads around whatever you're up to.
