Being lifelong fans of labor strife and (especially) guerrilla street theater, we received this press release with some excitement. We are passing it on without comment, except to ask why this doesn’t happen more often. What could dramatize the struggle of labor versus management better than the preannounced crashing of ritzy parties?

Delivering a message of ‘Tame Wild Edibles’, the workers will demand an immediate end to retaliation from their employer.WHY: The Wild Edibles employees have filed a class action lawsuit for unpaid overtime and the company has responded with illegal retaliation including firing nine of the workers. In addition to its own restaurant, Wild Edibles provides seafoods to some of New York’s most famous eateries including Tavern on the Green and La Goulue. Yet, Wild Edibles workers are laboring under illegal and exploitative conditions.WHO: Spirited immigrant employees and supporters from their union, the
