The Music Is Pleasant at Peasant

In the time we’ve been doing House Mix, we’ve heard a surprising amount of AC/DC in the city’s dining rooms. So where to go for something slightly more mellow — heck, maybe even some oldies but goodies? Peasant and its sister restaurant, Bacaro, are pretty reliable bets. We recently visited the former and the night took us from Patty’s “Mixed-Up, Shook-Up Girl” to, um, Madonna’s “Material Girl.”

1. “Mixed-Up, Shook-Up Girl,” Patty and the Emblems
2. “A Little Bit Me, a Little Bit You,” The Monkees
3. “Workin’ for the Man,” Roy Orbison
4. “Tell Him,” The Exciters
5. “Just One Look,” Doris Troy
6. “London Calling,” The Clash
7. “Just Like Heaven,” The Cure
8. “Call Me,” Blondie
9. “Our House,” Madness
10. “Material Girl,” Madonna
