City Harvest Wants You to Bring Your Lunch Tomorrow

skip lunch
At Grub Street, we generally feed at our desks on cheese and peanut-butter crackers and canned soups, but for those of you accustomed to eating lunch out, City Harvest asks you to stay your hand. The charity, which feeds hungry New Yorkers, asks you to "Skip Lunch, Feed Hunger," by donating money you'd normally spend at a restaurant or deli. New York is an official sponsor of the event, which just makes too much sense not to get behind. According to City Harvest, $5 can provide four kids with lunch for a week, and given how much even crappy sandwiches cost these days, that’s not much of a sacrifice.
