A while back we brought you a preview of The Chicken, the Fish and the King Crab, the documentary that captures the intensity and hoopla of the Bocuse d’Or competition. IFC hit the premiere party and talked to Jesus Almagro, the Spanish chef who is the focus of the film (reporter Matt Singer seems to have trouble stomaching just a spoonful of his creations), as well as Mario Batali, who says he hosted the event because “I love Spain and Spain loves me!” Keep in mind he’s been traveling through the country with Gwyneth Paltrow at his side — might have something to do with it.
