BBQ Chicken Finally Off the Ground in East Village

Nearly nine months after we alerted you that Korea’s most ubiquitous fried-chicken joint was coming to St. Marks Place, BBQ Chicken is finally up and running. When we visited yesterday, the power went down a few times, squelching the Rihanna album that was blasting. However, a graduate of Chicken University was able to hook us up with a “chicken burger” (a moist, oily fried breast topped with onions, lettuce, tomato, processed cheese, pickles, plus mustard and mayo), a biscuit that rivaled the ones at Popeyes, and a free BBQ Chicken key chain (crucial). Welcome to the neighborhood, BBQ Chicken, although we can’t tell whether your motto comes from the Bible or LOLcats: They returned for more when they found out the BBQ CHICKEN were actually good. Um?
