Gary Robins has left Sheridan Square, the “progressive American” West Village restaurant he opened in June, Grub Street has learned. We tried to reach the chef after getting a tip but were told he was out of town indefinitely. Brian Smith of Hall Co., Sheridan Square’s PR rep, confirmed that Robins was out. It’s not yet clear what the dustup was about, or whose idea it was for Robins to go. Expect an oblique official announcement to be distributed soon.
