Nino Catuogno, affable owner of Bricco, plans to open a two-floor Italian restaurant, Capriblue, in the former Central Fish Market space, at 527 Ninth Avenue.
Daniel Kane, after first planning to turn the Food Bar space into the Chelsea Café, now plans to revive one of the city's most gorgeous spaces, the long-vacant Biltmore Room, as a restaurant with a full bar.
George Guenancia and Gerard Blaines are opening a smaller outpost of their long-standing tourist favorite, Café Un Deux Trois, in the old Le Madeleine spot. It will be called (what else?) Le Petit Un Deux Trois.
Finally, the owners of Kashmir will open a lounge at 601 Eighth Avenue.
While we’re contemplating the future of Chelsea and the environs, we have to wonder — what’s going on with the old Avalon-Limelight space? Back in January, we heard a rumor that a new owner might be renovating it, but nothing since then. Anyone?
