Guest of a Guest has a few words with Todd English, who opens Libertine this fall, and asks him, “What currently turns you on about food?” English, who is just back from Peru (which might be how he cultivates the tan that he tells GoaG is 100 percent real), predicts: “Peruvian food is going to be the next big thing.” Do we see a project in the works? Of course, before that happens, English first has to get these openings off his plate: “This November I am opening Campo, an Italian restaurant in Fort Lauderdale. Early 09 I am opening a branch of my Figs concept in West Palm Beach with Macys. In April I am doing an Asian restaurant in DC, at the Thompson Hotel Group’s Donovan House.” This man must have a hell of an Outlook calendar.
