Transom Chronicles Twenty Years of Club Violence

8/8/08 at 6:25 PM

On the heels of the killing at Spotlight Live, the Transom brings a time line of twenty years of deaths inside and outside of clubs like Opus 22, the Falls, Guest House, BED, Duvet, Palladium, and Centro-Fly. Their conclusion: “Bouncers, who are supposed to provide some modicum of security, figure in a disturbingly high number of incidents.” The history is far from complete: Killings involving Al’s Mr. Wedge, Hush, and, of course, Club Kalua come to mind, for starters. Still, some grim into-the-weekend reading.
