Mayor Michael Bloomberg made a cameo at OTG Management's soft opening for the restaurants in JetBlue's new Terminal 5 at JFK yesterday. While the general public must wail till mid-October, chefs gathered to welcome the hordes of press waiting to cover something as banal as an airline terminal. Piquillo's Alexandra Raij sliced jamón; Balthazar bros Riad Nasj and Lee Hanson made saffron moules from La Vie's menu; and Del Posto chef Mark Ladner served orecchiette alongside Del Posto alum Mario Carbone (who'll actually be running the kitchen at Aero Nuovo). Oh yeah, and Ted Allen was there too.
