Brooklyn Bowl isn’t the only bowling alley with food service coming to the city. Hollywood-based national chain Lucky Strike Lanes is opening a 36,000-square-foot complex near Times Square. In addition to 26 lanes and billiard tables, it promises a full-service bar and a private “Luxe Lounge” featuring four lanes topped by a twenty-foot-wide projection screen (yeah yeah, Big Lebowski and White Russians, we got you). Okay, so corporate chef Bill Starbuck’s menu — viewable here for the first time — isn’t exactly Blue Ribbon, but remember, this is Times Square, and “comfort food with a twist” is pretty much a given. “Mac and cheese bites” and “tuna lollipops” totally remind us of Spotlight Live! But will D.J.’s (D.J.’s!) and high-tech lights (lights!) be enough to make us abandon the frumpy fun at Leisure Time? Actually, the Port Authority institution plans to add two more lanes and a sit-down restaurant (along with a more casual eatery) by the end of the year (probably December).

Update: Lucky Strike's reps inform us that the bowling alley will open "at the end of September."
