Gansevoort Park Stirs Controversy, Hilton Garden Inn Green-lighted
9/12/08 at 9:00 AM
The latest Ganse-venture, the Gansevoort Park Hotel, won't open till January of 2010, but it already has Community Board 4 in a huff. At a meeting last night, a board member stormed out when discussion of the venue's four bars (including a swanky rooftop pool bar and a ground-level steakhouse) was postponed till next month; another member lamented the possibility of more drunken post-grads and even "prostitutes and pimps" (it's true that call girls like them some room service). Meanwhile, the Hilton Garden Inn on 35th Street was recommended for a liquor license that will serve its new pub, restaurant, room service, and roof bar. This, boys, is how it's done.
