This video isn’t exactly news and isn’t exactly New York (it comes from the 1966 Czech film, Daisies), but since it shows one of the greatest food fights of all time, we just had to share it after seeing it for the first time at BEast, the lounge that just fully opened under Broadway East. (Present and accounted for: Josh Lucas, Tatum O'Neal, Ryan McGinley, Grub Street favorite Ajay Naidu, and of course ThreeAsFour.) We’ve had a chance, by the way, to sample bartender Tod Michael’s cocktails and they’re something special. His habanero margarita, sweetened with fermented pineapple, has always been popular upstairs, but our favorite (at least for fall) actually isn’t on the menu — ask him to whip up something with vanilla vodka and house-made pumpkin, squash, and sage syrup. And no matter how much this film inspires you, don't walk on his bar.
