A reader confirms that Dave Martin's Crave on 42nd has closed, as expected: “I checked out their website and noticed that they were announcing a new menu that debuted on Oct 22nd. Cool, fine with me, the only reason why I'm going is that I have a coupon and I enjoy Top Chef. Anyhow, there was nowhere to make reservations on the website and they never called me back. I just called again tonight and the message now announces that the restaurant is permanently closed! What is going on?!” What’s going on, of course, is that the restaurant is permanently closed — possibly because people only went there because they had a coupon and enjoyed Top Chef! Then again, it was making $70,000 a year off macaroni and cheese alone — we’ll let you know, when we hear from Dave Martin, whether that Whole Foods product line ever panned out.
