Johnny Iuzzini news that doesn’t involve (just) his hotness! Although a tipster who attended the pastry chef’s mousse demo at the Gourmet Institute this past weekend did note a knee-buckling level of charm (he speaks Italian and French, mon dieu), the witness also told Grub Street that the tatted chef announced he’s become a student of mixology and plans to open a real bar, not a dessert bar. Jean-Georges reportedly knows Iuzzini has been bartending part-time at an undisclosed location (where he’s started at the bottom, fetching ice, etc.), and is supportive. While Iuzzini insisted he still loves pastry, he can’t help getting excited about something totally new and even joked that those who want to try his sugar and spice should head to Jean-Georges soon, since it might be his last dessert gig. No word yet on how soon we can expect Iuzzini’s new project, but we’re told he's working with a partner and getting counsel from friend Sam Mason.
