Reuben Fritters in Danger: Michael Ferraro Takes Over at Delicatessen

Doron Wong didn’t exactly get rave reviews for the greasy grub at Delicatessen (the critics compared it to everything from Hot Pockets to Totino's Pizza Rolls), so it’s no shocker that the place has installed a new executive chef. It looks like Michael Ferraro, the toque who was in, and then very quickly out, at Fresh, has landed on his feet. According to a Delicatessen rep, “Michael will put his own stamp on the Delicatessen menu by integrating international comfort classics from his Italian roots and classical French training.“ We’ll see if this warms foodies to the people-watching palace — it's doubtful it'll endear it to the upstairs neighbors.
