What to Eat (or Crush Into a Ball of Crumbs) During the Debate: Palin Cookies!

Speaking of Grand Central Market! For the past week, Zaro’s has been selling these cute black-and-white cookies bearing the faces of the presidential candidates — and now they're doing the veeps, too. For once, our question isn’t “are these people good for our country?” More like, are these things safe for our stomach? Turns out the photos are printed onto rice paper via InkJet cartridges loaded with food coloring instead of ink. Then they’re baked into the cookies after they're iced. So, yeah, seems safe. But we're told it hasn't stopped certain folks from shelling out $3.25 for them just to spit on them and toss them into the trash. Gotta love it.
