Beer Bar’s Closing Prompts Unexpectedly Mixed Emotions

Like EV Grieve, we’re torn about the closing of Hop Devil Grill in the East Village. On the one hand, the beer bar had all of the soul of a T.G.I. Friday's, which really rankled those who loved Stingy Lulu’s before it. But if you were able to get past the fratmosphere, it did have a killer beer selection including cask ales (a rarity) as well as interesting tastings. And the bartenders were always nice about letting you try stuff. A sign promises the restaurant will open with a new concept and management. Let’s hope that the draught lines stay and the cheesy beer signs go.

RIP Hop Devil Grill [EV Grieve]
