When we referred to “Douchebusters” in telling you about BEast’s “Bye Bye Douchebag” parties yesterday, we had no idea an actual Ghostbuster would show up to the fairly remote Chinatown lounge. But a little after midnight, Angelo Fabara (creative director along with Nisian Hughes) informed us that none other than Bill Murray was in the house. It seems that after a gallery opening in Chelsea, Murray told friends he wanted to go to a dive bar, and they convinced him to hang with the cool kids at BEast instead, though only after he insisted there was no such thing as East Broadway. He seemed glad to have discovered the street, however, as he stayed for some time, sporting a leather vest over a plaid shirt. Also spotted at the vegan/vegetarian lounge: proud carnivore James Casey of Swallow, who told us that the first issue is now out, and that the next one will be about Trans-Siberia. Prepare yourself for Russian molecular gastronomy!
