Boqueria Soho Gets Liquor, Will Open Next Week

Today is a momentous one, and we are giddy with excitement. Change is on the way. Why? Because Boqueria, dear friends, has told us it will open its much anticipated Soho location late next week (there will be an industry party on Monday). As we told you before, the tapas bar will be larger than the Chelsea original, and will have a twelve-seat chef’s counter where you can see Seamus Mullen and company do their thing (whether it’ll be reserveable remains to be seen; the restaurant will be walk-in only). The design is more or less the same — there will be counter-height tables as well as a semi-private group table in the back. The menu will also be similar to the original’s, but with more of a focus on seafood. And a liquor license was granted just a few days ago, so no “dry opening” à la Bar Carrera’s second location. Beer sangria all around!

Boqueria, 171 Spring St., nr. W. Broadway; 212-343-4255
