Boerum Hill’s dumpy oasis, Trout, closed on Sunday, and our summer is already ruined. Though the fish and beer joint always lost foot traffic in winter months, owner Jim Mamary said the restaurant shuttered for several reasons. “The economy, my landlord, and the rough-and-tumble nature of the restaurant business — it was a perfect storm,” he told us. A plan to develop the corner Trout occupied on Smith and Pacific also fell through after two years of negotiations, he said, but he assured us that Pacifico is safe (and still serving margaritas). As for that oyster bar planned to go with Black Mountain Wine House, Mamary today declared it “dead in the water.”
