CB3 Gives Upper East Side Saloon the Nod for Mo Pitkin’s Space

11/11/08 at 6:12 PM

We noted earlier that Shea Gallante of Cru was planning to go for a liquor license at the Sea Salt space at last night’s community-board meeting. He didn’t end up appearing, and Bullfrog and Baum, the firm that handles publicity for him and for Cru as of this week, won’t comment about it. But Zagat Buzz reports that there was another monumental development at last night’s meeting: The owners of Upper East Side faux saloon Aces & Eights, who bought the long-vacant Mo Pitkin’s building for $4 million, were recommended for a liquor license. Kind of incredible given the board's reputation and the uptown location’s fratmosphere. We’re sure Sasha Petraske’s head just exploded.
