A Grub Street commenter wasn’t impressed with Charles: “The food was way beyond terrible. My boyfriend and I agreed it was the worst meal we have had in ages … what a shame!” Nevertheless, from the looks of a slightly more favorable review over at Guest of a Guest, it seems the place is going to even greater lengths than the Waverly Inn to pretend it isn’t open: “The former Les Deux Gamins bistro space’s window[s] are now boarded up with newspaper. It looked a closed restaurant, and there was no sign in sight. This is of course, on purpose I’m sure.”
